Why can't I see some Major League Games?
In broadcasting, a blackout is when certain programming, usually sports, cannot be televised in certain media markets. There are several reasons.
- Local broadcast and cable stations which contract with a team to show their games in the local market have priority to televise those games. For example, if ESPN is scheduled to telecast a game and the game was scheduled to be telecast by the local rights holder, such as ABC, the game will be blacked out on ESPN in that market and the game will only air on ABC.
- In some instances, any broadcaster that has a signal that hits any area within a 35 to 75-mile radius of a stadium may only broadcast a game if that game is a road game, or if the game sells out 72 hours or more before the start time for the game.
This is to encourage fans to actually buys tickets and attend the games in person. SkyBest TV has no control over blacked-out events.
Why does the volume get louder during commercials?
Some advertisers purposely record their commercials with louder volume settings to try and catch a customer's attention. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, however, this is not an issue SkyBest TV can control.
